New swimming pool and spa safety regulations apply in Victoria (effective 1 December 2019), including registration, inspection, and certification requirements for property owners. Pools and spas must be registered with the local council and have safety barriers inspected every four years.

Any residential pool or spa with a depth of 30cm (300mm) or more must be enclosed by a compliant safety barrier. This includes inflatable pools.

WARNING: Children have drowned in portable swimming pools. Constant adult supervision is required. Children must never be left unattended in or around the pool. Always ensure compliance with local pool fencing regulations.
