New Pool and Spa Barrier Laws (Victoria)
On 1 December 2019, new laws were introduced in Victoria to improve pool and spa safety.
These regulations include updated registration, inspection, and certification requirements.
- Pools and spas must be registered with the local council.
- Safety barriers must be inspected every four years.
- Any residential pool or spa deeper than 30 cm (300 mm), including inflatable pools, must have a safety barrier.
