Pool and Spa Barrier Laws
On 1 December 2019, new laws to improve swimming pool and spa safety came into effect in Victoria. These laws introduced registration, inspection, and certification requirements for property owners.

Property owners must register their pool or spa with their local council and have the safety barrier inspected every four years.

Any residential pool or spa in Victoria with a depth of 30 cm (300 mm) or more must be enclosed by a safety barrier. This includes inflatable pools.
